Our mission is to provide an inclusive, play based, quality teaching and learning environment for preschool children and their families.

Welcome to Barmera Kindergarten

Through interacting in our naturalised outdoor learning environment children at Barmera Kindergarten have the opportunity to extend and develop their knowledge, skills and interest.

Our Nature Kindy program makes us unique as we take children’s learning into the naturally occurring bush setting.

In 2021 we are excited to be part of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen garden program delivering pleasurable food education to our community.

Our kindergarten has been assessed under the new “National Quality Framework”.

We are very proud to have received an overall rating of Exceeding the National Quality Standard, our rating was EXCEEDING in all 7 quality areas.

Nature Kindy

Nature Kindy is an off-site program, which operates during Term 2 & 3 at Rockies (opposite the field day site).

Children are encouraged to explore and appreciate their natural environment with minimal resources.

Research shows that connecting with nature and the outside world contributes to better long-term health outcomes.

Children are also able to explore, imagine, hypothesise, predict, work collaboratively and take considered risks during their play in our natural bush land.

We know that children’s development is enhanced by playing in the outdoor environment and leads to better academic outcomes long term.
